STEP 32 OF 67 · YOU ARE THE GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER
Connect the character to the game
Send the character to Unreal with Auto Setup, replace the template mannequin but keep the tested controls, attach the weapon and line up hit timing with the swing.
How to do it
- Export with Character Creator's Auto Setup, which builds the materials.
- Swap the mannequin for your character in the player Blueprint.
- Blend animations, attach the weapon to the hand socket, sync hits with the swing.
- Check feet, hands, camera height and collision.
- Upload the character file here so Duke can include it in builds.
How AI speeds this up
Duke imports uploaded FBX characters into its generated project automatically on the next build.
Example from a sample game
Ashfall: Kaia replaces the mannequin; the sword sits in hand_r; hits sync on frame 9.
